Privacy Policy for YouTube Column Customizer Chrome Extension

Thank you for using YouTube Column Customizer (the "Extension"). This policy explains the limited data the Extension handles.

1. Information We Collect and Use

The only piece of data the Extension actively stores is your preferred number of columns for YouTube layouts.

    Column Count Setting: When you select the number of columns you want to see using the Extension's popup, that number (e.g., "5") is saved locally on your computer using the standard chrome.storage.local browser storage API.
    Purpose: This setting is stored solely to remember your preference so the Extension can apply it automatically when you visit YouTube and doesn't need to be set every time.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

The Extension does NOT collect, store, transmit, or track any other information, including but not limited to:

    Your browsing history
    Your YouTube viewing habits
    Your personal identity (name, email address, etc.)
    Your IP address
    Any data from your Google or YouTube account
    Any website content other than what is strictly necessary to identify the grid elements on YouTube for layout modification.

3. Data Storage

The column count setting is stored locally within your Chrome browser's storage area for the Extension. It is not sent to any external server or third party. Clearing your browser's cache or uninstalling the Extension may remove this stored setting.

4. Third-Party Links

The Extension's popup includes an optional link to an external website ("Buy Me a Coffee"). Clicking this link will take you away from the Extension to that third-party site. Your interaction with that site is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one. The Extension does not share any data with Buy Me a Coffee.

5. Permissions Usage

The Extension requests the following permissions:

    storage: Required to save your preferred column count locally using chrome.storage.local.
    host_permissions for *://*.youtube.com/*: Required to allow the content script to run on YouTube pages and modify their layout according to your setting. 1
