Blog comments via video?
You probably didn’t even think about this possibility, but it was inevitable. I mean, people are finding new and unique ways to use video online every day.
It seems Viddler community evangelist, Colin Devroe has been putting together a WordPress plugin to allow the comments section of WordPress blogs to contain video.
Here’s a sample of what he’s put together on his own blog — with some folks already eagerly posting video comments. Interesting for sure!
Are you ready to adopt the idea? Are your readers ready to reply with video?

My visitors? Probably not. Jeff Pulver’s visitors? Probably so!
It is definitely a shift from the norm for a lot of people, but I think it could catch on, especially in some communities. Thanks for the link!
Yes. I’m getting more comfortable w/video every day. Although I’m just not sure of the tolerance of readers to “skim” through say 20 video comments. Without a text summary…that won’t fly.
Perhaps video comments that use software to extract the transcript
doug: Thus has been the challenge of many since the 50s and 60s when young grads were writing their thesis on just that, transcription from voice recognition from within video. No one has yet to get it right.
So, until a breakthrough in that area happens, people can choose to also leave short text descriptions along with their video comment. It’ll be an etiquette thing.
